Laser class 1 / Hazard warning

Information about Cherry laser class 1 products

This article refers to:

You can find out whether your product belongs to laser class 1 by referring to the product information included with the item.

Description:
According to DIN EN 60825-1:2003 and IEC 60825 Cherry laser class 1 products (computer mice) are "safe under reasonably foreseeable conditions"
i.e. there is only a risk when products are not used properly or are defective.

Risk from lasers:

  • The laser beam is invisible.
  • If defects are present, there may be an increase in the radiation level.

General:

  • Exceeding the maximum operating temperature of 40 °C may result in defects. You should therefore also avoid direct exposure to sunlight.
  • Use by children under the age of 3 years not recommended or only under adult supervision.


Solution:
  1. If you suspect your mouse is defective, do not look into the laser opening on the underside of the mouse.
  2. Switch the defective mouse off immediately.
  3. Do not unscrew or dismantle mouse.
  4. Have the defective mouse repaired by your dealer or hand it over for disposal either to a collection point for electronic waste or to your dealer.
