General requirements: the mouse must enable an ergonomic working position, which helps prevent and ease problems in the wrist area, as well as the chain of muscles leading up to the cervical spine.
A few examples of the requirements for computer mice:
Does the mouse fit well in the hand?
I.e. the mouse must correspond to the characteristics of the inner surface of the hand, as well as the size of the hand.
Can the mouse buttons be pressed with different fingers on the hand (e.g. index finger, middle finger) and can they also be operated with the left hand? Continuous strain on the index finger during the typical "clicking movement" (e.g. scrolling) must be reduced, e.g by carrying out the same function using a different finger.
The mice in the ERGO-SHARK range are available especially for right and left handed users and are adapted to suit the ergonomics of the hand. They are rounded to fit in the ball of the hand and extend wider to fit the fingers. The thumb can be placed in a special additional recess, the index and middle fingers lie relaxed on the mouse and do not have to be held up. The mice are covered with a soft-touch surface, which guarantees a pleasant touch feeling and helps prevent the hand from becoming sweaty after hours of operation.
Both mice have a scroll wheel and 7 freely programmable keys. In this way, frequently used functions can be allocated to different keys to ensure variation in movement and less strain on the index finger.
Can the mouse be operated with a minimum muscular force?
The Teflon glide surfaces located on the underside of the mouse enable smooth and easy movement. The required force is therefore reduced.
Can the mouse be positioned flexibly and operated on different surfaces? Is there sometimes a delay in the transmission of commands when working with the mouse?
A delay in the transmission of a command prompts the operator to use additional force to carry out the command. The psychological and physical reaction leads to muscular tension in the shoulder muscles and wrists.
The wireless ERGO-SHARK mice offer more flexibility than cable-connected models. They offer more freedom of movement, which, in turn, enables the user to select a more advantageous ergonomic working position. The use of state-of-the-art laser technology enables precise, direct cursor guidance without delays.
